School Day Info out to schools ...

We have just sent out the forms to the schools and registrations are already coming in.  It's great to see these teachers bringing their students every year. I love to see the hordes of kids descend on the festival site and swarm through the workshops and activities and watch all the performers.

It's going to be an amazing day.  Check out the info on our School Page.  And remember the School Day is open to everyone in the community. It's a great field trip for preschools groups, homeschoolers and everyone else too.

Happy Earth Day

Fat Cat is looking to do something green today ... how about you?  http://act.earthday.org/

Maybe you could practice stiltwalking so you can join Neezar up high in the sky at the Fat Cat Children's Festival this year. Check out this quick tutorial from Ana Dziengel on her blog Babble Dabble Do.

Will Stroet is "Full of Beans"

Will Stroet is a fantastic children's entertainer who will be back at the Fat Cat this year ... check out his new Video "Full of Beans".  Will is personable and makes a great connection with kids.  He performs in both French and English so this will be a great act to bring your French Immersion kids to.  Check out more about Will at his website.

It's the Cat's Pajamas = A Great Thing

The expression "It's the Cat's Pajamas" likely dates back to the 1920s when cool jazz types were referred to as cats and pajamas were just coming into popularity ... for us of course it just means a great thing and that's what the Interior Savings Fat Cat Children's Festival really is for our community: a great thing!

It has brought smiles and laughter to thousands upong thousands of families over the past 21 years and it just keeps getting better and better.

The 2012 edition will truly be "The Cat's Pajamas" with the continued support of the community, our schools, amazing volunteers and especially our volunteer Board of Directors and our very generous sponsors.

I would like to give a "shout out" to our fabulous Festival Team that is already hard at work on making the Festival come together:

President and Face Painter Extraordinaire Marlene Fenton

Secretary Lois Marshall

Treasurer Sinead Scanlon

Parade Director Teri Pilon

Activity Director Nicola Pendleton

Site Director James Smith

Volunteer Director Kim Butt

And thank you also to their families for sharing them with us!

We are excited about this year's adventures and I will be sharing updates and behind the scenes info at this blog.  I welcome your comments and feedback and look forward to connecting through these conversations.

Dorothee
